How to Take Care Of Chihuahua

Being informed when you are looking at owning a Chihuahua is the one thing that will be the difference between having a wonderfully behaved Chi or a terror. Chihuahuas are a sensitive breed. Whether you are looking at taking on a puppy or an adult it does pay to know what you are in for with your Chihuahua. They require a lot of time, love, patients and special training.

There are many things you need to take into account when you are considering owning a Chihuahua. Chis love a lot of attention from humans, so if you are planning on being away from home a lot, it may pay to look for a different breed of dog.

Having two Chihuahuas myself, I know that to have well behaved dogs you need to train them. But they don’t train like other dogs, Chis are super smart, and often do things when you turn your back for 2 seconds. They rarely get caught doing anything wrong, because they usually know your patterns. To avoid having Chihuahuas that are little terrors, it pays to know how to deal with your Chihuahuas behaviour and train them properly at the start.

There are many things out there in everyday life that can seriously harm your Chi. If you live in a climate that is too hot or too cold, this can shorten their life. Chis can suffer from low blood sugar levels, there are certain things that a Chi has to avoid otherwise it can put them into a coma. Knowing how to look after them is the best insurance against their life.

Investing in a good guide, is the best insurance against your Chi’s life. There are so many things out there that do not effect bigger dogs, but can take your Chis life. As an owner for many years the one piece of advise I would give to any new owner is to do your research and know how to train them properly and to care for them well. Don’t be one of those people who own a little terror.
